This week, SPARCS is participating in the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, which aims to empower cities and collectivise urban innovation across the globe.
As the world's leading event for cities, Smart City Expo World Congress provides a unique meeting point for the whole smart city ecosystem. The event is based around the values of social inclusion, sustainability and empowerment, and is dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding and critical reflection on the smart urban revolution.
Together with other H2020 SCC1 projects, SPARCS will be participating in various panels, meetings and workshops, focusing on the discussion on the future of smart cities.
SPARCS coordinator Francesco Reda will be representing the project and meeting the board of H2020 SCC1 coordinators on Wednesday.
On Thursday, SPARCS communications coordinator Veronika Cerna will be moderating the debate ‘Europe 2030: What is next for smart cities and communities’ at the Central Agora at 10:30. SPARCS ‘Exploitation and Business Ecosystems’ work package leader Angelo Giordano will be participating in the debate as well. The debate will showcase policy aspects of the smart cities in the future and concrete results for replication and upscaling.
